Alexandre Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the game, Róbson Arantes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gustavo Palmeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Edmílson Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Palmeira having to interfere. From close distance Róbson Arantes pressed in the 2-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 27 minutes into the game. Manoel Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Alexandre Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camboeiro SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dinei Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Paiva having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gustavo Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Arantes in the 52nd minute of the match. Dinei Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Paiva having to interfere. Gil Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dinei Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinei Cearense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Manoel Paiva made a huge save. Gustavo Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Lago in the 69th minute of play. Gil Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Manoel Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camboeiro SS's Manoel Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Sena in the 72nd minute of play. After 78 minutes of play, Camboeiro SS's Alexandre Lago made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Candeias's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
