The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eritreia's Allan Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká da Rocha in the 3rd minute of play. Kaká da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Allan Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Miroros AD. Álvaro Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleandro Barreto having to interfere. If Álvaro Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chicão da Silveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleandro Barreto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chicão da Silveira ran back to his position shaking his head. Chicão da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Aleandro Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Chicão da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Miroros AD's Gonçalo de Souza got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Aleandro Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão da Silveira in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chicão da Silveira got free with Aleandro Barreto in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Álvaro Gomes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aleandro Barreto having to make a save. Aleandro Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão da Silveira in the 38th minute. Claudinho de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleandro Barreto having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Álvaro Gomes was the one to do the kick off. Chicão da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Aleandro Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eritreia. Kaká da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Allan Mattos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Kaká da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Miroros AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaká da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teodoro Tinoco hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Kaká da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amadeu de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Eritreia's zone, Amadeu de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Mattos came out of the goal and Amadeu de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chicão da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Aleandro Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Álvaro Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleandro Barreto having to interfere. A collision led to Miroros AD getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Nilton Bezerra hit a great ball. Eritreia's Álvaro Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81st play minutes Chicão da Silveira shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Aleandro Barreto and just under the crossbar into goal. Allan Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Chicão da Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aleandro Barreto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Allan Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká da Rocha in the 92nd minute of play.
