Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Varzedo's Benê Pitta started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Alvorada SS's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Pitta came free, but Adolfo Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 6 minutes of play, Varzedo's Cido Simão made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolfo Peixoto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Samuca Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Túlio Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvorada SS. In the 10th match minute, Varzedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Paulo Berger to maneuver through the defense. Samuca Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Varzedo's Joel Leite got a free kick in the 13th minute. Túlio Botelho made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Ronaldo Botelho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuca Fernandes in the 16th minute of play forced Varzedo's goalkeeper Túlio Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Samuca Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvorada SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 played minutes Varzedo got a freekick which was hit by Joel Leite. Ronaldo Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Botelho having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Samuca Fernandes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Túlio Botelho. Samuca Fernandes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Ronaldo Botelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Túlio Botelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Botelho ran back to his position shaking his head. Varzedo's Túlio Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Fernandes in the 30th minute of play. When Varzedo's Cido Simão in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alvorada SS's goalie prevented a goal. When Benê Pitta came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Varzedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benê Pitta couldn't finish the play. Cido Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adolfo Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benê Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ronaldo Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvorada SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Samuca Fernandes made the kick off in the second half. Benê Pitta struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Adolfo Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzedo. Varzedo's Túlio Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Fernandes in the 58th minute of play. Ronaldo Botelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Túlio Botelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Botelho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cido Simãos short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Adolfo Peixoto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Alvorada SS's goalkeeper Adolfo Peixoto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Alvorada SS's zone, Cido Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Peixoto came out of the goal and Cido Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Varzedo's Túlio Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Fernandes in the 81st minute of play. Ronaldo Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Túlio Botelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, Alvorada SS's Adolfo Peixoto got control of the ball when José Paulo Berger tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute, Nando Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Botelho scored 4-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Túlio Botelho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
