In a very dangerous position, a player in Ratones AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Irupi a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Augusto Medeiros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ratones AD's Vágner Brito. 1-0. In the 17th minute, Rafa Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ediberto Valladares in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vágner Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Osmar Santos hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Fiori Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fiori Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Brito having to interfere. Irupi's Dida Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Paulista in the 36th minute of play. Vágner Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ediberto Valladares in the 38th minute of the match. Fiori Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafa Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Ramos having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ediberto Valladares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dida Ramos made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Rafa Paulista sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ratones AD booed when Irupi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tibúrcio Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Valdo Mesquita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ediberto Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Valdo Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 67 minutes of play, Ratones AD's Rafa Paulista made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Ramos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 70 played minutes Irupi got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Arósio. Rafa Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Dida Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ediberto Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Brito having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Irupi's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Mesquita came free, but Dida Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ediberto Valladares struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Vágner Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irupi. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
