Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Clóvis Rossi started the match with the kick off. Ulisses Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinaldo de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Reinaldo de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Cariucanga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinaldo de Brito couldn't finish the play. Tony Dracena struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Celso Bueno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alagacico. In the 21st minute Clóvis Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clóvis Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Celso Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Lira having to interfere. A collision led to Alagacico getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Hílton Andrade hit a great ball. In the 35th minute Clóvis Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulisses Lira made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when David Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by David Mesquita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cariucanga's Celso Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Rossi in the 42nd minute of play. After 42 minutes, Donatello Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cariucanga and the Alagacico players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Cariucanga got a freekick which was hit by Donatello Santana. Clóvis Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Celso Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reinaldo de Brito was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Reinaldo de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cariucanga's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo de Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulisses Lira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the game, Reinaldo de Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ulisses Lira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reinaldo de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Cariucanga's Celso Bueno got control of the ball when Tony Dracena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ulisses Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Mesquita in the 80th minute of play. A collision led to Cariucanga getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Vitinho Pinheiro hit a great ball. Tony Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celso Bueno having to make a save. After 88 played minutes Cariucanga got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Cavalcante. With his leg Celso Bueno managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Alagacico's Tony Dracena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 94th match minute, Cariucanga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatello Santana to maneuver through the defense. Clóvis Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Alagacico players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cariucanga.
