Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when João Rosa took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Pinhalito's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Tróia came free, but Gustavo Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juninho Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Austin's Geraldo Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Austin from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Rosa in the 15th minute of play forced Austin's goalkeeper Geraldo Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pinhalito's Gustavo Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Tavares in the 18th minute of play. Basílio Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Monteiro having to interfere. João Rosa struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Geraldo Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pinhalito. 25 minutes into the game, Austin's Júlio Tavares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Basílio Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Monteiro was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Juninho Vianna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Geraldo Teixeira made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Austin's Dário Mendes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Júlio Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Gustavo Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pinhalito's João Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basílio Tróia was the one to do the kick off. Gustavo Monteiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 58th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Claudinho Vides. After having played for 63 minutes, Júlio Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Austin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Austin's goal looked a bit too open when João Rosa came free, but Geraldo Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kauan Guimarães hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute of the match, Júlio Tavares got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gustavo Monteiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Júlio Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Austin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Tavares couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute Basílio Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Monteiro having to interfere. Mauro de Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauro de Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Austin getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Mauro de Sena hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, João Rosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geraldo Teixeira. Austin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Rosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
