Chicão Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Luiz Paulo Maranhense made a huge save. Belmiro Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Vidal having to interfere. If Chicão Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Guayaramerim AD getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Sílvio Luiz Neves hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Lenílson Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes, Guayaramerim AD's Marcos Pernambucano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Narciso Vidal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guayaramerim AD reached it. The supporters of Guayaramerim AD booed when Carapicuiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Carapicuiba's Chicão Carioca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Paulo Maranhense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chicão Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Maranhense having to interfere. After 38 minutes of play Guayaramerim AD's Sílvio Luiz Neves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Lenílson Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Luiz Paulo Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Perivaldo Lara was the one to do the kick off. If Célio Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guayaramerim AD's Luiz Paulo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chicão Carioca in the 57th minute of play. Chicão Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Lara got free with Narciso Vidal in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Paulo Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Corrêa in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Corrêa in the 71st minute of play forced Guayaramerim AD's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenílson Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Digo Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chicão Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Maranhense having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Perivaldo Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guayaramerim AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Perivaldo Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Carapicuiba's Narciso Vidal got control of the ball when Perivaldo Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute Chicão Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guayaramerim AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Carapicuiba.
