Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reginaldo Cardozo started the match with the kick off. Reinaldo Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reinaldo Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reinaldo Figueiredo hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Leopoldo da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Monteiro in the 7th minute of play. Joaquim Melos short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Adriano Neves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Reginaldo Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaldo Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erivaldo Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Leopoldo da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo da Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Reinaldo Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 30 played minutes Tapuru SC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Mendonça. Baldim SC's Adriano Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Cardozo in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginaldo Cardozo in the 37th minute of play forced Baldim SC's goalkeeper Adriano Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adriano Neves made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Joaquim Melo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Monteiro in the 42nd minute of play forced Tapuru SC's goalkeeper Leopoldo da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erivaldo Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tapuru SC's Reinaldo Figueiredo got his second yellow card of the match in the 44th minute. The referee ordered Reinaldo Figueiredo off the ground. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erivaldo Nogueira made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Erivaldo Nogueira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leopoldo da Silva. That made the score 0-1 in the 60 minute of play. After 64th play minutes Joaquim Melo shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Adriano Neves and just under the crossbar into goal. Luís Fabiano Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo da Silva having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the game, Nelson Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tapuru SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baldim SC the free kick. In the 72nd minute, Nelson Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adriano Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Doriva Motta fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baldim SC's protests and gave Doriva Motta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tapuru SC booed when Baldim SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopoldo da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Nogueira in the 85th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tapuru SC's zone, Jânio Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo da Silva came out of the goal and Jânio Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
