With a little luck, Caboco FC's Breno Peixoto got control of the ball when Narciso Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Mineiro in the 11th minute of play forced Caboco FC's goalkeeper Breno Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romário de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro de Azevedo in the 14th minute of play. When Alberto de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gicaras EC's protests and gave Alberto de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Caboco FC booed when Gicaras EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romário de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Gicaras EC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Silas Moreno hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Cássio Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto de Souza was shown his second yellow card after 20 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Alberto de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Noel Meirelles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Romário de Queirós. Gicaras EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Romário de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, Gicaras EC's Narciso Trigo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Breno Peixoto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gicaras EC's Romário de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Torres in the 38th minute of play. Romário de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Torres in the 41st minute of the match. Cássio Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Narciso Trigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Caboco FC's Anísio Barreto got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 67th minute, Silas Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Narciso Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Torres couldn't finish the play. When Narciso Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Gicaras EC fans jumped to their feet. Sabino Goiano's late challenge caught a Caboco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gicaras EC.
