The audience thought a goal was coming when Adelino Miranda got free with Ronaldinho Gerber in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paranavai FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panacuhy SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Paranavai FC's Juvenal Neves got a free kick in the 13th minute. 21 minutes in the game, Gustavo de Barros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ronaldinho Gerber having to interfere. If Rômulo Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panacuhy SC's Didi Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Adelino Miranda notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Panacuhy SC's Ronaldinho Gerber. Ronaldinho Gerber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Panacuhy SC's Rômulo Teles got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Noel Toledo was a little too slow when Didi Velasco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. With a little luck, Paranavai FC's Noel Toledo got control of the ball when Rômulo Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustavo de Barros struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Ronaldinho Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paranavai FC. Didi Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Toledo having to interfere. In the 87th minute of the match Hermínio Silveira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldinho Gerber skillfully saved the ball. Adalberto Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Gerber having to interfere. Gustavo de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
