When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Alexsandro Quadros put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Paulo Antunes. With a little luck, Castel's Pedro Paulo Antunes got control of the ball when Augusto Melo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Elano Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imaculada the free kick. Elano Castro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Melo got free with Pedro Paulo Antunes in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Imaculada getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Belchior Correia hit a great ball. Pedro Paulo Antunes made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Augusto Melo sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Chico Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute of the match Lauro Dantas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Basílio Vinhas skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Paulo Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Cipriano Mumbach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basílio Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamílton Paraíba in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Paulo Marinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basílio Vinhas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Imaculada's Basílio Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamílton Paraíba in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Castel were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hamílton Paraíba to strike the kick off in the second half. Cipriano Mumbach hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton Paraíba in the 61st minute of play forced Imaculada's goalkeeper Basílio Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Paulo Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Hamílton Paraíba fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Basílio Vinhas, passed just outside the right post. 69 minutes into the game, Castel's Paulo Marinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Basílio Vinhas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 73 minutes into the match, Imaculada's goalkeeper Basílio Vinhas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Marinho. 75 minutes into the game, Imaculada's Augusto Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Paulo Antunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Hamílton Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Basílio Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Imaculada's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton Paraíba came free, but Basílio Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Vinhas having to interfere.
