Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Betinho Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Botorobi's goalkeeper Betinho Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldir Santos. Raimundo Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Machado having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Piracuruca's zone, Enio Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Paraíba came out of the goal and Enio Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piracuruca's Augusto Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Maia in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of Botorobi booed when Piracuruca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinho Mangueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Augusto Paraíba. Piracuruca's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Silva in the 19th minute of play forced Piracuruca's goalkeeper Augusto Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olívio Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes Botorobi got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Maia. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Simões in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betinho Machado saved Botorobi from getting behind. Waldir Santos in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Betinho Machado, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olívio Maia in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Olívio Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th match minute, Piracuruca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luís Moreno to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Olívio Maia put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Augusto Paraíba. Betinho Machado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waldir Santos went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Simões to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Simões in the 53rd minute of play forced Botorobi's goalkeeper Betinho Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Waldir Santos came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Piracuruca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldir Santos couldn't finish the play. Botorobi's Olívio Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piracuruca's Waldir Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raimundo Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Botorobi getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. João Jacinto hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
