Mauro Mattos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Augusto de Lara struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cido Batista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cauitau. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gildo de Souza in the 25th minute of play forced Cauitau's goalkeeper Evaristo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Mattos struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cido Batista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cauitau. Cido Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto de Lara in the 33rd minute of play. Gildo de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mauro Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Mattos scored 0-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cido Batista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Jaguariahyva players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cauitau were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Mauro Mattos made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Jaguariahyva's Gildo de Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evaristo Brasil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evaristo Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo de Souza in the 63rd minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Romeu Cavalcante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evaristo Brasil skillfully saved the ball. Gildo de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Cauitau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Mattos to maneuver through the defense. The Jaguariahyva fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Jaguariahyva's Luiz Fábio Cunha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 82 minutes, Luiz Fábio Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jaguariahyva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fábio Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Valdo Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cido Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto de Lara in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo Vergílio in the 96th minute of play forced Jaguariahyva's goalkeeper Cido Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
