After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Mauro Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zacarias da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ernesto Sena fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cauitau's protests and gave Ernesto Sena a yellow card for diving instead. Ernesto Sena hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Cauitau's Evaristo Brasil got control of the ball when Marcus Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Britto got free with Evaristo Brasil in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zacarias da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Tambahu SS's Flavinho Lago dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Flavinho Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Brasil having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Tambahu SS's João Adolfo Arantes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Evaristo Brasil. Evaristo Brasil yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavinho Lago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. José Augusto de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zacarias da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Augusto de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Augusto de Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Zacarias da Silva made a huge save. After 69 played minutes Tambahu SS got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Ribeiro. Flavinho Lago might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evaristo Brasil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavinho Lago ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mauro Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Cauitau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Mattos couldn't finish the play. After 84 minutes of play, Cauitau's José Augusto de Lara made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zacarias da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 87 played minutes Cauitau got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Vergílio. With a little luck, Tambahu SS's Zacarias da Silva got control of the ball when José Augusto de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Cauitau booed when Tambahu SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
