Picui's Gabriel Quaresma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Cardoso in the 14th minute of play. Gabriel Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josué Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to Picui getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. João Augusto Dante hit a great ball. Josué Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 20 minutes, Guilherme Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Miraima SS and the Picui players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Miraima SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Guilherme Figueiredo hit a great ball. Fernão Fernandes, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Picui's zone, Rubens Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Quaresma came out of the goal and Rubens Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Miraima SS fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Miraima SS's Nestor Barbosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Miraima SS's Ernani de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui do Vale in the 35th minute of play. When João Augusto Dante fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Picui's protests and gave João Augusto Dante a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Picui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Dante to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Rui do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Nestor Barbosa made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josué Cardoso got free with Gabriel Quaresma in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Josué Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gabriel Quaresma made a huge save. Miraima SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Picui the free kick. Rubens Senna hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Josué Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Gabriel Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Miraima SS. 79 minutes into the game, Picui's Rui do Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernani de Alcântara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Nestor Barbosa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Miraima SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Lucas Ramos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Nestor Barbosa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gabriel Quaresma. The goal made the score 2-2. After 95 played minutes Miraima SS got a freekick which was hit by Valério Branco.
