Romeu Toledo came out and tried to block the shot, but Osmar Pombal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Claudinho Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albano EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atauba EC the free kick. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Albano EC! In the 21st minute Andrézinho de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Atauba EC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Koehler. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Umberto Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Albano EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Umberto Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Andrézinho de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rômulo Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eliézer Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atauba EC's protests and gave Eliézer Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Atauba EC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. The wind increased when Osmar Pombal made the kick off in the second half. Osmar Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Osmar Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albano EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osmar Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Umberto Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rômulo Gonçalves didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Atauba EC's Elói Fantini shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Atauba EC's Romeu Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar Pombal in the 67th minute of play. In the 71st minute of the match, Elói Fantini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rômulo Gonçalves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Andrézinho de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Umberto Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 minutes, Osmar Pombal made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Atauba EC's Romeu Toledo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Mattos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Toledo saved Atauba EC from getting behind. After 84 played minutes Atauba EC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Koehler. 88 minutes into the match, Albano EC's goalkeeper Rômulo Gonçalves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrézinho de Castro. Albano EC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
