Match Report

Jacaqua
Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Américo Tinoco kicked off to start the match. Giovanni Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Américo Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Genílson Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jacaqua SS's Mauro Pombal got a free kick in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Américo Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tataira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Américo Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Saraiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Tataira FC booed when Jacaqua SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanni Moura in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cássio Perez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 29th minute Américo Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Américo Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tataira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Tinoco couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Jacaqua SS defense, Américo Tinoco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Saraiva. The Jacaqua SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Saraiva should have stopped the shot. Mauro Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauro Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Mauro Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Américo Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teodoro Schmidt made a kick off. Genílson Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Saraiva having to interfere. Américo Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Giovanni Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tataira FC. Tataira FC's Cássio Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Moura in the 66th minute of play. Natã Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Genílson Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Giovanni Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geovanni Moura came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Jacaqua SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanni Moura couldn't finish the play. Cássio Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. When Augusto Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tataira FC's protests and gave Augusto Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tataira FC's Augusto Queiroz got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tataira FC's goalkeeper Cássio Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cássio Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Cássio Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Moura in the 90th minute of play. Américo Tinoco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Saraiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Novaes got free with Giovanni Saraiva in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tataira FC played a much better game than Jacaqua SS and deserved their victory. The Jacaqua SS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
