Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Durvalino Negri kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, William Quintal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chiniqua's Hermínio Quaresma. Hermínio Quaresma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rogério de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durvalino Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Durvalino Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Durvalino Negri fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rogério de Alcântara, passed just outside the right post. Gerson Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério de Alcântara having to interfere. William Quintal might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermínio Quaresma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Quintal ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Chiniqua's Eduardo Massa got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 36 played minutes, Embirizal's Vânderson de Senna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hermínio Quaresma came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Embirizal reached it. 39 minutes into the game, Vânderson de Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Embirizal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiniqua the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Massa during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chiniqua getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Eduardo Massa hit a great ball. In the 48th minute William Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Quaresma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Elias de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Hermínio Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Embirizal. Antônio Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Chiniqua's Hermínio Quaresma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Chiniqua from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Chiniqua's Naldo Prata got a free kick in the 64th minute. William Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio Quaresma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. William Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Quaresma having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, one of Chiniqua:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vânderson de Senna shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Elias de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Hermínio Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute William Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Quaresma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Embirizal's João Paulo Castro got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Embirizal's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Soeiro came free, but Rogério de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Embirizal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Embirizal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
