An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani de Senna in the 7th minute of play forced Athenas SC's goalkeeper Didi Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Resfriado SS's Bruno de Andrade got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Ricardo Paranaense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Resfriado SS's Pedro Augusto Paraibano didn't even have to move. Wilson Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Barral's late challenge caught a Resfriado SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Barral helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Athenas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Barral to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Giovani de Senna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Didi Barral was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Giovani de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falcão Quirino struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Didi Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resfriado SS. 32 minutes into the match, Falcão Quirino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Didi Barral. Athenas SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Falcão Quirino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pedro Augusto Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliézer Madureira in the 36th minute. Giovani de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Barral having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Gilberto Loureiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Resfriado SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Athenas SC the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Gilberto Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Augusto Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliézer Madureira in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Coutinho to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eliézer Madureira in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Augusto Paraibano saved Resfriado SS from getting behind. Didi Barral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovani de Senna in the 61st minute. When Eliézer Madureira came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Athenas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliézer Madureira couldn't finish the play. Pedro Augusto Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Coutinho in the 72nd minute of play. Eliézer Madureira struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Pedro Augusto Paraibano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athenas SC. Giovani de Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Didi Barral made a huge save. In the 95th minute of the match, Giovani de Senna got a very nice opportunity to score, but Didi Barral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
