The referee ignored Alvarenga SS's protests and gave Ramiro Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. Ramiro Quirino hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 41 minutes of play Alvarenga SS's Ramiro Quirino was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Falcão de Senna kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 44thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Alvarenga SS's keeper Ernesto Cunha was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Iraceminha SS were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Alvarenga SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Custódio Fernandez took the corner. The corner ended in Custódio Fernandez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Alvarenga SS's Ernesto Cunha did a great save.

Ernesto Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Falcão de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edvaldo Corrêa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Alvarenga SS's Róbson Hermes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vito Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vito Pimenta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Iraceminha SS got a freekick which was hit by Vito Pimenta. 58 minutes into the match, Róbson Hermes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anísio Proença. Iraceminha SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Róbson Hermes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Iraceminha SS's zone, Róbson Hermes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Proença came out of the goal and Róbson Hermes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Eurico Quaresma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Alvarenga SS's Natã dos Santos tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
