Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Nestor Braga started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cláudio Correia sped through Alvarenga SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ernesto Cunha. In the 11th minute Reginaldo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Róbson Hermes got free with Oswaldo Ortiz in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Alvarenga SS booed when Valentin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswaldo Ortiz was a little too slow when Nestor Braga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-1. Chicão Peixoto hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Cláudio Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ernesto Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvarenga SS's Ernesto Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Velasco in the 33rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Reginaldo Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Cunha was relentless in the 35th minute of the game.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cláudio Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. Cássio Ceresso hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute of the match Valentin got a corner. Alvarenga SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chicão Peixoto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Valentin's Chicão Peixoto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ernesto Cunha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Reginaldo Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valentin's supporters rose to their feet, but Reginaldo Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joaquim Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ernesto Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Alvarenga SS's Cícero Pimenta got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After having played for 67 minutes, Reginaldo Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valentin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginaldo Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oswaldo Ortiz came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvarenga SS's Nestor Braga. But to his dismay, Nestor Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After having played for 77 minutes, Joaquim Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valentin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Reginaldo Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th play minute Reginaldo Velasco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ernesto Cunha. 2-2. Róbson Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oswaldo Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Braga in the 94th minute of the match. Ernesto Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Correia in the 96th minute of play. Valentin were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Alvarenga SS to leave the ground with a draw.
