Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Adhemar Meirelles notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Taparuba's Pedro Paulo Senna. Pedro Paulo Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cássio Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Secco in the 14th minute of the match. If Adhemar Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yan Nóbrega blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Paulo Senna having to make a save. Cássio Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Bittencourt in the 23rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gajueiro FC's zone, Haroldo Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio Coelho came out of the goal and Haroldo Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Secco in the 25th minute of play forced Gajueiro FC's goalkeeper Cássio Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taparuba's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Coelho in the 26th minute. A nice corner shot did that David Coelho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cássio Coelho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cássio Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. If Orlando Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adhemar Meirelles succeeded in the game's 39th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. A collision led to Gajueiro FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Gilvan Barreto hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After having played for 57 minutes, Haroldo Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taparuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Paulo Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Pedro Paulo Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Hermínio Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Coelho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gajueiro FC's Hermínio Corrêa got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute, Elias Gerber fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cássio Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Adhemar Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
