Jorge Gaúcho was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Eliseu Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Caxingo's Giovani Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donatello Urbano got free with Eliseu Cearense in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Donatello Urbano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caxingo's Eliseu Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Costa in the 20th minute of play. When Lucas Costa fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caracarahy AD's protests and gave Lucas Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Lucas Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Eliseu Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Costa in the 32nd minute of play. Donatello Urbano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Eliseu Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caracarahy AD. Donatello Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Cearense having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Caxingo's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Costa came free, but Eliseu Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adolfo de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristiano Queiroz's late challenge caught a Caxingo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Caracarahy AD got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Queiroz. In the 47th minute Adolfo de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Giovani Nogueira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Donatello Urbano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliseu Cearense having to make a save. Eliseu Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donatello Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurício Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Caxingo's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Costa came free, but Eliseu Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
