Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olívio Cruz in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Almir de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olívio Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Almir de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Buriti SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Carioca to maneuver through the defense. When Giovani Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Igara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Ediberto Hames's late challenge caught a Igara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ediberto Hames helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Buriti SS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ediberto Hames hit a great ball. When Igara's Giovani Albuquerque in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Buriti SS's goalie prevented a goal. Giovani Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Benê Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Igara's goalkeeper Almir de Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ediberto Hames. Buriti SS's Benê Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho de Azevedo in the 36th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Claudinho de Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benê Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinho de Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ediberto Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Olívio Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Buriti SS's zone, Claudinho de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benê Cruz came out of the goal and Claudinho de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giovani Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Claudinho de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benê Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olívio Cruz struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Almir de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buriti SS. Elias Vides hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Igara's Thomás Mattos got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ediberto Hames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Almir de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateus Bittencourt during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Igara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Olívio Cruz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Igara's Almir de Castro. Almir de Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
