The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Renan Abraão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Falcão Braga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Rodriguinho Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Corrêa having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renan Abraão in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falcão Braga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Godofredo's Hortêncio Tepedino got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Itaipaba EC's Rafa Brito broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Haroldo Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Braga having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renan Abraão made a kick off. Serafim Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Eugênio Brasil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but José Paulo Corrêa made a huge save. Rodriguinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. José Paulo Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Itaipaba EC's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Cardoso came free, but Falcão Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Valério das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itaipaba EC's Falcão Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Abraão in the 73rd minute of play. In the 87th minute, Rodriguinho Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Falcão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Anísio Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anísio Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Itaipaba EC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Anísio Sena hit a great ball. The Godofredo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Itaipaba EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Itaipaba EC.
