In the 4th minute, Evaristo Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 11 minutes into the game, Betinho Amorim recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reinaldo Torres. Betinho Amorim showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Betinho Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Torres having to interfere. Aloísio Mazza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Evaristo Tróia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gildo Vieira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Gildo Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Tróia in the 23rd minute of the match. Duarte Pinho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Piem's zone, Samuel Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gildo Vieira came out of the goal and Samuel Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Piem's Vinícius Albuquerque got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 35th minute Evaristo Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinaldo Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Amorim in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Clemente Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the game's 39th minute Piem's Dudu Batista took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Reinaldo Torres and thus the score was 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Freire got free with Reinaldo Torres in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Piem getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Wágner Freire hit a great ball. Samuel Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gildo Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Betinho Amorim was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Armandinho Rezende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rolas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piem the free kick. After 52 played minutes Rolas got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Rezende. The audience was convinced that Betinho Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reinaldo Torres was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Duarte Pinho hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Reinaldo Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute Wágner Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolas's Reinaldo Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betinho Amorim in the 60th minute of play. Betinho Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piem the free kick. The supporters of Piem booed when Rolas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Tróia in the 88th minute of play forced Piem's goalkeeper Gildo Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Evaristo Tróia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gildo Vieira, passed just outside the right post. Samuel Valladares succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 90th playminute. The Rolas players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Piem from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
