Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Alfredinho Félix started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Clemente Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Couto in the 4th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kléberson de Azevedo got free with Bebeto França in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bebeto França made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Kléberson de Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. Kléberson de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto França having to interfere. Alfredinho Félix was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas Couto during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Avenida was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Couto to maneuver through the defense. Jonas Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manituba's Clemente Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Couto in the 33rd minute of play. Kiko Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Jonas Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clemente Sena was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. André Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Jonas Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Enéas Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredinho Félix in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bebeto França prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfredinho Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Bebeto França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonas Couto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Manituba's Clemente Sena got control of the ball when Nestor Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Jonas Couto came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Avenida fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Couto couldn't finish the play. Kiko Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd match minute, Manituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Manituba's Clemente Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Manituba from getting a goal against them. Enéas Cerezo's late challenge caught a Manituba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enéas Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Avenida getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Enéas Cerezo hit a great ball. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Avenida! In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for Manituba. Anselmo Abraão stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bebeto França. 1-1. Jonas Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonas Couto ran back to his position shaking his head. Avenida's Bebeto França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléberson de Azevedo in the 80th minute of play. Dito Albuquerque's late challenge caught a Manituba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dito Albuquerque helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Manituba booed when Avenida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Kléberson de Azevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bebeto França. Avenida's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléberson de Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 89 played minutes Avenida got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Cerezo. In the 95th minute, Nestor Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Sena was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Clemente Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Avenida players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
