A very good chance. Nestor Moreno hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Cássio Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, João Francisco Valadares fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bebeto França, passed just outside the right post. When João Carlos Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avenida's protests and gave João Carlos Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Avenida's João Carlos Rosado got a free kick in the 14th minute. The supporters of Barbalha SC booed when Avenida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Hames didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto França acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Murillo Urbano. After 20 played minutes Barbalha SC got a freekick which was hit by Raúl Secco. Davi Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Couto in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Barbalha SC's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Moreno came free, but Davi Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Maurinho de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bebeto França was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Murillo Urbano. After 30 minutes, Luisão Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barbalha SC and the Avenida players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Luisão Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Barbalha SC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Couto came free, but Davi Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jonas Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Moreno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Davi Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Arlindo Castro hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Avenida's Jonas Couto in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barbalha SC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Avenida booed when Barbalha SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Couto struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Davi Arruda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avenida. 74 minutes into the game, Túlio Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barbalha SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avenida the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Barbalha SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Avenida:s goal. In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Avenida. Delfim Pernambucano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Davi Arruda. 0-2. In the 78th minute, Túlio Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonas Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Davi Arruda made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Nestor Moreno sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes into the match, Barbalha SC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Couto came free, but Davi Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raúl Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Avenida's Delfim Pernambucano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Barbalha SC. Nestor Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Davi Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Barbalha SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Avenida were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
