Giovanni Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marquinhos Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zézinho Pernambucano hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Clementina's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto Arruda came free, but Agostinho Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernão Linhares to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes, Haroldo de Toledo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pindaiuval and the Clementina players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Carlos Augusto Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Leal in the 79th minute of play forced Pindaiuval's goalkeeper Marquinhos Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Giovanni Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clementina's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marquinhos Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giovanni Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clementina's Zézinho Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giovanni Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Maia having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Clementina had played much better football throughout.
