The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Madureira in the 6th minute of play forced Abufari FC's goalkeeper Rogério das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Wilian Prata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abufari FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mandihy EC the free kick. The supporters of Mandihy EC booed when Abufari FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Mandihy EC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Kauã Valladares hit a great ball. Celsinho Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente de Almeida in the 16th minute of the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abufari FC's goalkeeper Rogério das Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Abufari FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmo Amaral to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute Waldemar Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celsinho Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente de Almeida in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celsinho Sarmento saved Mandihy EC from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Waldemar Cruz in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério das Neves saved Abufari FC from getting behind. Cauã Hames's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Sarmento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. If Vicente de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalmo Amaral struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Celsinho Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abufari FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Celsinho Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauã Hames, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Vicente de Almeida's late challenge caught a Mandihy EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente de Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. Vicente de Almeida hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Waldemar Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abufari FC's Rogério das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Abufari FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Mandihy EC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Gilberto Albuquerque hit a great ball. Raimundo Berger took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celsinho Sarmento. Mandihy EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 68th minute Cauã Hames shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Vicente de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cauã Hames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeferson Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Rogério das Neves made a huge save. In the 82ndth minute of the game Waldemar Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abufari FC's Rogério das Neves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Abufari FC's Vicente de Almeida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celsinho Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Waldemar Cruz took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Rogério das Neves to make any attempt to save it. Cauã Hames's late challenge caught a Mandihy EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
