The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Eriberto Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 9 minutes, Waldemar Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mandihy EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulinho Faustino charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulinho Faustino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Yan da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epigua FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Waldemar Cruz 21 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Jeferson Madureira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Nildo Vianna when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Juarês Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Sarmento having to interfere. Jeferson Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nildo Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Epigua FC got a freekick which was hit by Severino Silva. Nildo Vianna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeferson Madureira in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Epigua FC's Adolfo Baiano got a free kick in the 40th minute. Mandihy EC were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Epigua FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pedro Luiz Sena took the corner. Pedro Luiz Sena's late challenge caught a Epigua FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luiz Sena helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Luiz Sena hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute of the match Jeremias de Castro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Sarmento showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Epigua FC's Yan da Costa in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Luiz Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Mandihy EC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Yan da Costa 77 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Waldemar Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nildo Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Epigua FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Waldemar Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Mandihy EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauã Valladares to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Epigua FC booed when Mandihy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauã Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 97 minutes Mandihy EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jeremias de Castro who took care of the corner kick. The Epigua FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
