Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Didi Machado started the match with the kick off. Cléber Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Miguel Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 4th match minute, Macaoca AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Baptista to maneuver through the defense. If Didi Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Didi Machado's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Cléber Matos charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléber Matos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Toninho Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Iata SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Quadros couldn't finish the play. If Didi Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toninho Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Geovânio Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macaoca AD's protests and gave Geovânio Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. 27 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Macaoca AD's Zé Mumbach fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The supporters of Iata SS booed when Macaoca AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iata SS's Miguel Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Carlos Lucas in the 42nd minute of play. Miguel Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Mumbach in the 43rd minute of play. Macaoca AD's Vicente Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Macaoca AD from getting a goal against them. When Didi Machado came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Iata SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Machado couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Mumbach to make the kick off. Luís Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Zé Mumbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If José Carlos Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Iata SS booed when Macaoca AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Mumbach's late challenge caught a Iata SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Mumbach helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Macaoca AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Mumbach to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Didi Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vicente Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Quadros in the 73rd minute of play. Toninho Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Mangueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Didi Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Mangueira having to interfere. Miguel Massa came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Macaoca AD's Zé Mumbach. But to his dismay, Zé Mumbach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 90th minute Didi Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, Iata SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Machado to maneuver through the defense. Zé Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Macaoca AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
