Juninho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Cortada EC's Benjamim Terra got a free kick in the 4th minute. Luís Fabiano Cearense came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Cortada EC's Nilton Mello. But to his dismay, Nilton Mello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Geraldo Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 minutes, Paulo Netto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponta and the Cortada EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes Ponta got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Netto. In the 21st minute, Bernardinho Quirino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luís Fabiano Cearense. The goal made the score 2-0. Benjamim Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Aníbal Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Nilton Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cortada EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilton Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The corner ended in Róbson Mendonça almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ponta's Luís Fabiano Cearense did a great save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Cristian Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Juninho Marquez made a huge save. Geraldo Vides scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juninho Marquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 64 minutes, Geraldo Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Geraldo Vides left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ponta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Reinaldo Valle struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Juninho Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponta. After 76 minutes, Aníbal Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponta and the Cortada EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, one of Ponta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ponta. In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Cortada EC. Róbson Mendonça stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luís Fabiano Cearense. 3-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Reinaldo Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponta's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juninho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Valle in the 89th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Reinaldo Valle kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juninho Marquez. That made the score 3-3 in the 91 minute of play. Reinaldo Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Marquez having to interfere.
