The supporters of Cafofa booed when Matutina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thiago Arósio in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Augusto Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Carvalho in the 56th minute of play forced Cafofa's goalkeeper Walmyr Mumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gildo de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Walmyr Mumbach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Chaves having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, Matutina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Cafofa's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Carvalho came free, but Walmyr Mumbach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Frank Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matutina's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Mumbach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gildo de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Mota's late challenge caught a Matutina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Mota helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Gustavo Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Arósio spun around in front of the goal 89 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Matutina's goal. Luiz Amorim's late challenge caught a Cafofa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Matutina getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Luiz Amorim hit a great ball. Gildo de Queirós took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Augusto Chaves. Carlos Augusto Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.
