Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. João Adolfo Vale started the match with the kick off. After having played for 7 minutes, Nico Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ituquara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nico Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aratama EC's Chiquinho Tande got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Doni do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chiquinho Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Emílio Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Tande in the 32nd minute of play forced Ituquara's goalkeeper Emílio Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When João Adolfo Vale came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ituquara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Vale couldn't finish the play. Valdomiro de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Adalmo Andrade who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Emílio Maciel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Chiquinho Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chiquinho Tande made a kick off. Inácio Mineiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emílio Maciel. Ituquara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Adalmo Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Maciel having to interfere. Chiquinho Tande's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emílio Maciel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. João Adolfo Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro de Queiroz having to interfere. When Doni do Valle fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aratama EC's protests and gave Doni do Valle a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Aratama EC got a freekick which was hit by Doni do Valle. Valdomiro de Queiroz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 75th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cícero do Valle. 76 minutes into the game, Adalmo Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aratama EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ituquara the free kick. Chiquinho Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Chiquinho Tande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emílio Maciel was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. João Adolfo Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdomiro de Queiroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Vicente de Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aratama EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ituquara the free kick. If Adalmo Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ituquara were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Aratama EC's much stronger midfield.
