Siupe's Luís Gustavo Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Pedro Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Amaral having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, Umaiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fábio Mendes made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Tiaguinho Berger sent off a good shot on target. If Délio Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Vale came free in the 44th minute and tried to tip the ball over Décio Amaral, but to the joy of Umaiba's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. 47 minutes in the game, Délio Simões fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luís Fábio Mendes having to interfere.
The wind increased when Luís Gustavo Maciel made the kick off in the second half. Tiaguinho Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute.
