The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edu Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Dadá Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Penha in the 4th minute of play forced Pedreiro's goalkeeper Dadá Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Monteiros FC's zone, Dedê Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerson Brasil came out of the goal and Dedê Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Monteiros FC booed when Pedreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio de Godoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredinho Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 played minutes Pedreiro got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Azevedo. Dadá Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Edu Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Dadá Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monteiros FC. Laércio Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dadá Simões having to interfere. The supporters of Monteiros FC booed when Pedreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edu Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laércio Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Dadá Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedreiro's Dadá Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Penha in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laércio Penha to strike the kick off in the second half. Juvenal Guerra hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Edu Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pedreiro's Aloísio Garcia got a free kick in the 61st minute. 65 minutes into the match, Laércio Penha notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Pedreiro's Dadá Simões. Dadá Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Virgílio de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Monteiros FC's Laércio Penha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dadá Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Monteiros FC's Gerson Brasil got control of the ball when Alfredinho Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laércio Penha in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dadá Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dadá Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Gaúcho in the 94th minute of play. Edu Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Dadá Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monteiros FC. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pedreiro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Monteiros FC.
