Timborinha SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zacarias de Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olívio Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elano Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gildo de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
