Manfredo Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Porcos's zone, Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho Magalhães came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Porcos's Wanderson Valle got a free kick in the 11th minute. Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvinho Magalhães having to make a save. Nuno Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Pires having to interfere. In the 25th minute Nuno Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Régis Mineiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luizão Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Régis Mineiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Emílio Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luizão Pires read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Régis Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Luizão Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Porcos. Régis Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Luizão Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Manfredo Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Porcos's Silvinho Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Manfredo Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Régis Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Luizão Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Luizão Pires managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Porcos's Régis Mineiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Silvinho Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld in the 46th minute of play. If Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Régis Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Luizão Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes in the game, Manfredo Moreno fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Silvinho Magalhães having to interfere. Luizão Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Luizão Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Pedro Luiz Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Régis Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Mineiro in the 78th minute of play forced Oriental EC's goalkeeper Luizão Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Nuno Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfredo Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Magalhães having to interfere. Oriental EC's Luís Guilherme Eger suffered a sore thigh after 84 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Cipriano Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Porcos's protests and gave Cipriano Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Porcos's Cipriano Saldanha got a free kick in the 85th minute. Oriental EC were furious when Nilson Luz was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 88th minute, one of Oriental EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Oriental EC. In the 96th minute, Régis Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nuno Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Porcos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Catarinense couldn't finish the play.
