Janari's players were relieved. 10 minutes into the game, Cláudio Bezerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Janari's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joarizinho the free kick. After 10 played minutes Janari got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Bezerra. Leandro Mesquita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Janari's goalkeeper Hélder Linares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Augusto Nascimento. A collision led to Janari getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cláudio Bezerra hit a great ball. In the 21st minute of the match Leandro Mesquita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélder Linares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Janari booed when Joarizinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Otávio Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Janari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otávio Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 27 played minutes Joarizinho got a freekick which was hit by Chico Monteiro. Rafa de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Mangueira having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Otávio Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Janari's supporters rose to their feet, but Otávio Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Otávio Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adalberto Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Linares having to interfere. After 39 minutes of play, Janari's Rafa de Amorim made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Mangueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Augusto Nascimento who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Hélder Linares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Adalberto Marinho made the kick off in the second half. Ramiro Mangueira was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Dário Fernandes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dário Fernandes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Janari's Hélder Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Nascimento in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Nascimento in the 60th minute of play forced Janari's goalkeeper Hélder Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafa de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Mangueira having to interfere. If Adalberto Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th match minute, Joarizinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Janari's Chicão Montenegro tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Zé Augusto Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélder Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Marinho in the 76th minute of play. Janari's Chicão Montenegro pulled a muscle in his leg after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 78 minutes, Zé Augusto Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Joarizinho and the Janari players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Joarizinho got a freekick which was hit by Zé Augusto Nascimento. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Janari's goalkeeper Hélder Linares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chico Monteiro's late challenge caught a Janari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chico Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Janari booed when Joarizinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chico Monteiro got his second yellow card in the match during the 94th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Joarizinho's Chico Monteiro got a free kick in the 95th minute. Otávio Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Joarizinho supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Janari's performance. The match ended with a win for Janari.
