The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Paulo Diniz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maringa's goalkeeper Arthur Mumbach, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Mateus Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Amadeu Coelho kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 18thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Guaicara SC's keeper João Paulo Diniz was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Acácio Vinhas hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Simão Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Paulo Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Dante in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Acácio Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Aluísio Alagoano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arthur Mumbach came out and tried to block the shot, but Aluísio Alagoano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 63rd minute. Arthur Mumbach was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute, Amadeu Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Guaicara SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
