After a defensive mix-up in Guaicara SC's zone, Zacarias Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulo Diniz came out of the goal and Zacarias Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute Tomé Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aluísio Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simão Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 minutes of play, Guaicara SC's Simão Furtado made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisinho Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute, Silas Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Guaicara SC's Sidnei Nóbrega broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Zacarias Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 34 minutes on the clock, Thiago da Silveira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 34th minute, one of Sidrolandia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sidrolandia. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aluísio Alagoano was the one to do the kick off. Guaicara SC's Simão Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kauan Trancoso during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Sidrolandia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Kauan Trancoso hit a great ball. Luisinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aluísio Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Paulo Diniz made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Zacarias Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Simão Furtado struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Luisinho Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guaicara SC. Simão Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juninho Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 73 minutes, Aluísio Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaicara SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aluísio Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zacarias Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. João Paulo Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zacarias Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Paulo Diniz having to interfere. Simão Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luisinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Furtado in the 85th minute of play. Kauan Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Zacarias Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Paulo Diniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Sidrolandia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
