But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Catoles getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dida Vasconcelos hit a great ball. Guabiroba SC's Agostinho Secco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Catoles. In the 31st minute, Betão Coutinho made a precise shot to the right of Tony de Brito. Catoles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Frederico Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony de Brito having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Betão Coutinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guabiroba SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 43 minutes into the game, Betão Coutinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Tony de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Catoles players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guabiroba SC were winning 0-4.

Betão Coutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony de Brito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play.
