Evaristo Baptista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 8th match minute, Riachao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. If Murilo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Renato Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Quaresma in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rocha's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Lira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flávio das Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Vicente Proença had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evaristo Baptista. Riachao SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vicente Proença was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Evaristo Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murilo Cruz in the 23rd minute of the match. The audience cheered when Márcio Cosme's long shot passed Evaristo Baptista's right side. It was 3-0, 27 minutes into the match. Vicente Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Baptista having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Evaristo Baptista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Riachao SS booed when Rocha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murilo Cruz was the one to do the kick off. Isaltino Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Francisco Quaresma struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Paulo Renato Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riachao SS. In the 94th minute, Murilo Cruz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Baptista was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When the referee ended the match the Rocha players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
