After having played for 3 minutes, André Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macacos EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Recife was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 4 played minutes Timbu SS got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Arruda. Macacos EC's Carlos Augusto de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Rezende in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Marcus Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Sebastião Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yuri Bezerra was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Timbu SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Natanael Tavares, was totally fooled by Macacos EC's José Pedro Reis, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Carlos Augusto de Godoy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiago Gabriel Ferraz went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 37th match minute, Timbu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Freitas to maneuver through the defense. When Sandro Barros fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macacos EC's protests and gave Sandro Barros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th match minute, Macacos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Barros to maneuver through the defense. Macacos EC's Carlos Augusto de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gabriel Ferraz in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

66 minutes into the game, Egídio Viana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Carlos Augusto de Godoy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the match, André Recife had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Natanael Tavares. Timbu SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Recife was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 77th minute André Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Barros in the 79th minute of play forced Timbu SS's goalkeeper Natanael Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, André Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macacos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but André Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natanael Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Natanael Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Recife's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Timbu SS's Natanael Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Barros in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Macacos EC's Sandro Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natanael Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
