A collision led to Macacos EC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. José Pedro Reis hit a great ball. André Recife took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celsinho França. Celsinho França dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Macacos EC's Carlos Augusto de Godoy got control of the ball when Rodrigo Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Rodrigo Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute of the match, Pedro Paulo Quadros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Augusto de Godoy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 1-1 became the score in the 28th minute when Pedro Paulo Quadros elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Pedro Paulo Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto de Godoy having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Rodrigo Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canaguape AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Canaguape AD's Carlos Augusto de Godoy threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rodrigo Valadares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Celsinho França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Barros in the 45th minute of the match. Silvério Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvério Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silvério Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sandro Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Macacos EC's Miguel Gaúcho got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Carlos Augusto de Godoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo Quadros in the 55th minute of the match. Carlos Augusto de Godoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Quadros in the 58th minute of play. Canaguape AD's Rodrigo Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Paulo Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto de Godoy having to interfere. If Rodrigo Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The tension between the Macacos EC and the Canaguape AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 minutes of play Canaguape AD's Silvério Rosa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 83rdth minute of the game Sandro Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canaguape AD's Celsinho França was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sandro Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho França read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. André Recife could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Celsinho França made a huge save. In the 96th match minute, Macacos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Barros to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canaguape AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Macacos EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
