The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donato de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Tinoco in the 5th minute of the match. Donato de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Calambau's Christiano Paulista in the 13th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Silvinho Albuquerque was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Guarandi EC through an amazing save. Guarandi EC's Silvinho Albuquerque proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Guarandi EC from getting a goal against them. Samuca Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Donato de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Guarandi EC's Dênis de Sena got a free kick in the 20th minute. Christiano Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Guarandi EC's zone, Wilian Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho Albuquerque came out of the goal and Wilian Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calambau's Wilian Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Samuca Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anísio da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato de Andrade having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Calambau's zone, Samuca Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato de Andrade came out of the goal and Samuca Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donato de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Pedro Luiz de Amorim made a great header on Guarandi EC's corner, it was just that Calambau's Donato de Andrade managed to reach the ball for a save. Wilian Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Silvinho Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Wilian Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anísio da Costa to make the kick off. Samuca Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Calambau's Donato de Andrade got control of the ball when Anísio da Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio da Costa in the 62nd minute of play forced Calambau's goalkeeper Donato de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Calambau's goalkeeper Donato de Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuca Tinoco. Wilian Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fiori Queiroz during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 79 played minutes Guarandi EC got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Queiroz. When Calambau's Wilian Soares in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Donato de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio da Costa in the 98th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guarandi EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Calambau.
