An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Gaspar in the 4th minute of play forced Tambaqui's goalkeeper Cléber dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cléber dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico Brito in the 5th minute. If Frederico Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luiz Fabiano Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Tambaqui's zone, Silas Diniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cléber dos Santos came out of the goal and Silas Diniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Pontina EC booed when Tambaqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gláuber das Neves hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute of the match Víktor Alves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cléber dos Santos skillfully saved the ball. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Maurício Gaspar got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Tambaqui's José Paulo Velloso got a free kick in the 27th minute. Tambaqui's Cléber dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Alves in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Tambaqui's goalkeeper Cléber dos Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Brito. Maurício Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cléber dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Tambaqui's Luiz Fabiano Netto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodriguinho Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Pontina EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano Netto came free, but Rodriguinho Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Frederico Brito struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Cléber dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontina EC. Tambaqui's Leonel Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maurício Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Pontina EC's Frederico Brito in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tambaqui's goalie prevented a goal. 88 minutes into the match, Pontina EC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Matos came free, but Rodriguinho Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dito Perez during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tambaqui getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Dito Perez hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tambaqui walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
