In the 35th minute, Lessa's Hélder da Mata ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Albertinho Teixeira. Albertinho Teixeira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of Lessa booed when Jussari AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélder da Mata was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Sérgio Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jussari AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adelino Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Costa in the 63rd minute of the match. Hélder da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Albertinho Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes in the game, Sérgio Seco fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Adelino Eger having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fernando Costa in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adelino Eger saved Lessa from getting behind. Luiz Fernando Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando Costa in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adelino Eger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adelino Eger made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Sérgio Seco sent off a good shot on target. Toninho Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Toninho Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lessa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jussari AD the free kick. In the 80th match minute, Lessa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Adelino Eger was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luiz Fernando Costa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 81 minute of play. Dudu Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Albertinho Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lessa. Dudu Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertinho Teixeira having to interfere. The Jussari AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jussari AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
