Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albertino Tasso in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Albertino Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Maciel having to interfere. Zé Augusto Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Barros in the 16th minute of the match. Albertino Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Francisco Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Pedro Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Albertino Tasso put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dida Maciel. Francisco Xavier might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Augusto Valadares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Xavier ran back to his position shaking his head. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Guarapiranga AD's Adolfo Bueno in the 34th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Zé Augusto Valadares was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Acaituba SC through an amazing save. Guarapiranga AD's Dida Maciel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Proença in the 37th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Albertino Tasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Maciel was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Francisco Xavier scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Augusto Valadares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Pedro Barros was the one to do the kick off. When Adolfo Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Guarapiranga AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Bueno couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Guarapiranga AD's Francisco Xavier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Augusto Valadares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute of the match Vladimir Lago shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dida Maciel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Acaituba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Adolfo Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Zé Augusto Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Bueno scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Augusto Valadares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardo Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Dida Maciel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimir Lago. In the 92nd minute, Téo Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
